Vermont Jewelry School was created in response to the prevailing interest we saw in the craft of jewelry making. We are a small studio with a combined 60 years of experience to share!
Our Specialties
Classes
Private classes are $75 an hour.
VJS can craft classes for each individual need. We offer ongoing classes in fabrication and bench skills, lapidary, stone setting, and wax-carving. We work with you to set and achieve your goals. Beginners on up to practitioners who wish to learn or strengthen a particular skill. Call to discuss internships, class credit, or professional development.
Workshops
One of our most popular offerings, workshops are 2 hours and most accommodate 3-10 people. $75 per person, call to schedule.
Customized workshops priced according to time and materials.
Bench Rental
$30/hour
For those who already have jewelry skills, VJS can provide studio time by the hour. Includes use of bench with hand tools, soldering station, buffing machine, rolling mill.

Upcoming Workshops
All of our workshops are held at our Iris Lane Studios in Jeffersonville, Vermont. A beautiful location for us to collaborate and create together!
Participants may cancel up to 24 hours before the workshop. After that, you will receive shop credit if you are unable to attend.
I had the opportunity to create my own ring from gemstones I had. Their staff was very helpful and friendly. It was a memorable experience! I highly recommend checking out their studio, gallery store and trying out a workshop. You will not be disappointed.
Stacking Ring Workshop
This popular workshop guides you through the creation of a ring each of silver, brass, and copper. Participants solder, size, and individualize their trio of rings before proudly wearing them home.
2 Hour Class
Please contact us with how many in your party are interested. We are holding private classes often and will be sharing more public classes soon.
Wet or Dry Castings
Another seasonal offering, students turn up the torch to melt sterling silver in a crucible and then pour it into a bucket of dry material (pine needles, rock salt, dry pasta, etc.) or a bucket of water. The resulting formations are unique and surprising, and a few favorite pieces are then made into a pair of earrings or a pendant.
